Paparoa Street School
This policy outlines how Paparoa Street School meets the requirements of Code Outcome 16.
At Paparoa Street School, we ensure that we do not allow learners to study at our school if they are not entitled to be enrolled under the Immigration Act 2009. We take reasonable precautions and exercise due diligence in checking whether international learners are entitled to enrol. We monitor whether learners are continuing to meet their visa conditions, report any suspected breaches to Immigration New Zealand, and notify Immigration New Zealand of terminations of enrolment.
The international learner coordinator is responsible for keeping up to date with immigration requirements for study in New Zealand and ensuring that each international learner who enrols at Paparoa Street School has the necessary immigration status to study in New Zealand for the duration of their stay.
Checking and monitoring entitlement to study
We check and monitor the immigration status and visa expiry of international learners.
We cooperate with Immigration New Zealand if requested to provide evidence that international learners are complying with their visa conditions. We report any known or suspected breaches of visa conditions to Immigration New Zealand. If we terminate the enrolment of an international learner, we notify Immigration New Zealand immediately.
Only licensed immigration agents may give advice about immigration requirements. See Who needs a licence?
(Immigration Advisers Authority).
